Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God,the Father almighty,Creator of heaven and earth,and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,born of the Virgin Mary,suffered under Pontius Pilate,was crucified, died and was buried;he descended into hell;on the third day he rose again from the dead;he ascended into heaven,and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty;from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,the Holy Catholic Church,the Communion of Saints,the forgiveness of sins,the resurrection of the body,and life everlasting. Amen.

5th/6th Grade need to know the Hail Holy Queen and Memorare by the end of the 2016-2017 year.

Hail, Holy QueenHail, Holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us. And after this our exile, show unto us the blessed Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Pray for us, o Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

The Magnificat, taken from Luke’s Gospel (1:46-55), is the Blessed Virgin Mary’s response to Elizabeth-her hymn of praise to the Lord. A version of the prayer known as the Canticle of Mary is found as a song that is part of the Liturgy of the Hours.

Be able to recite the Magnificat on May 26th
My soul magnifies the Lord
And my spirit rejoices in God my Savior;
Because He has looked upon His handmaid’s lowliness;
behold, from now on all generations shall call me blessed.
The Mighty One has done great things for me,
and holy is His name.
His mercy is from age to age
to those who fear Him
He has shown might with His arm,
dispersed the arrogant of mind and heart.
He has thrown down the rulers from their thrones,
but lifted up the lowly.
The hungry He has filled with good things,
the rich He has sent away empty.
He has helped Israel his servant,
remembering His mercy
according to his promise to our fathers
to Abraham and to his descendants forever.
